Anyone else applied? I know they're supposed to notify us on April 1st but I'm curious if anyone who applied got any feedback yet. :)
This question is for Innatchka and Bababaowman: is the orientation something I can bring my husband to or should I go solo? Thanks
Go solo to orientation - it's about 4 hours of classroom time where you find out about each other and the program, and hopefully some of us will get a chance to talk to you, too.
Bring your hubby to your celebratory end-of-quarter parties and such. :)
Congrats Sam198 and star15brite!
The advice from the forum were very helpful!
I met with the director and she's SUPER nice! She gave me some insight about the application process (for those who are very curious), everyone will definitely find out the first week of April whether they are accepted, rejected or waitlisted. She told me that people who have interviewed will either be accepted or placed waitlist. So, with that said, GOOD LUCK to everyone! =D
Hey everyone,
MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS to those who have been accepted into the program! :hug:I was interviewed a couple weeks ago and I still haven't heard back from Kathy yet. She said she really enjoyed talking to me and I should hear back 1-2 weeks from then. But I still haven't. I'm beginning to lose hope. Sigh...but it might be because I had some official documents that still needed transferring to her and the school. I would love to attend this nursing program. I applied for the primary care track, but from reading the previous posts, it looks like the REAL application to the specialties don't happen until the students are a little ways into the program.
I had my interview before some of the questions asked during the interview were posted in this thread. DRAT!! Sigh, that's just my kind of luck. I didn't feel like I answered the "how will you split the class into weekend/weekday clinicals" correctly. Such a bummer.
All dreariness aside, I'm SO happy for everyone else that has gotten in!! Keep that excitement up as you learn and engage in the nursing field. Nursing is either a calling or career. Honestly, I would do nursing even if I didn't get paid, but hey, we all need to survive. Thanks to everyone for all the help and insight in this program (from those of you who are already in the program). I know all ya'all are busy with finals and such. :w00t:
Thanks xluescluesx!! Did you end up going to the interview or did you already accept to your other school?
We have to notify Kathy by friday if we intend to join the program. That means all other schools will be out of the running. I just need to check on some financial aid stuff before I accept.
MOTO88 -- Don't be discouraged, there's still plenty of time left.I'm sure your passion in nursing will get you far in the field. Motivation is the first step to taking action! Good luck in your endeavors!
Thanks for your cheeriness 5unshine. But it's just so discouraging especially after reading that the intent to enroll is due by Friday of this week and Kathy says she'll let me know my status next week. Also, not to be a pooper, but I'm sure everyone who is on the same boat as I am is feeling this...that applicants who have interviewed after us is already hearing back positive responses and we're playing the waiting game of our lives. I just kind of wish she sent out acceptance letters all at the same time, you know? Anyways, I've already stopped feeling sorry for myself. If I get accepted, AWESOME! If I don't, I gave it my all and Kathy just doesn't see it that she can set me up for success with the ELMN program. It's all good.
Good luck and congratulations to the class of 2014!
