CSN Financial Aid

U.S.A. Nevada

I don't know where else to go to ask this question. I am getting financial aid for the first time this year. I know the money is relased ten days before the first day of school. If you have the left over money direct deposited when does that get released and put in your bank account. I already turned in the paperwork to the cashier and I am good to go in that area. I am asking so that I can get the rest of the stuff I need for school.

Thank you,

Samantha

CALICORE:

I too am getting financial aid for the first time. I took out a stafford loan. When I asked financial aid office at WC campus, they told me that since I am a first-time borrower, excess money will be refunded to me 30 days after first day of school. I don't know if this is true to all other forms of financial aid though. Hope this helps.

I have direct deposit set up and I receive my left over money two days after it comes in.

And you are both right - first time borrowers they hold until after the semester starts. The notes from financial aid (check your e-mail) say that disbursement to school is this Friday. Direct deposits will start the following Friday 8/28 and continue through the first week of school. And definitely don't ask me how they decide who goes first!

Loans disbursed to the school. Just an FYI.
