I got some 'Specialist' Crocs (white w/ the vents on the side) to wear to clinical and OR for school, but I must admit - they are kind of weird! I'm used to tennis shoes or Birkenstocks (with the break-in period so that they conform to your foot bed), but these Crocs are a different breed!
Are they supposed to be this loose? I bought my shoe size (11 D) but these feel like I'm going to walk right out of them. Is this normal? Do Crocs need to be broken in? And are they really that comfortable for a 12-hour shift?

I usually size down in them, did you try a 10?
I did order a pair of 10's from Zappos - I'll have to see how those work. Thanks for the reply!
If they 10 feels a bit small, the back strap stretches a bit to adjust the size, just pull on it a bit. They do feel loose width wise, but they are suppose to be that way. I love my crocs, btws! Best shoes I have ever owned.
I wore a pair of the 10's to my part time bank job (I'm having a heck of a time finding a CNA job - but that's a story for another thread) and my feet are pretty happy! The 10's DO feel pretty cushy, and there is no break-in period unlike my Birkenstocks. Even with the vents on the side, my feet do get s little sweaty, but I'll survive. What style Crocs do you all wear as nurses? I was looking at the Bistros b/c of the non-skid soles but some people say they aren't as comfortable to wear. Thoughts?
I wore the specialist when I worked as a phlebotomist. The flip
flops are great, too! ( for outside work, of course)
The fact that they are supposed to be loose width-wise confuses me. The 10's seem to have enough room at heel and toe and can fit my fingers fairly easily between my heel and the strap. But width-wise, the 10's touch the sides (I DON'T have a wide foot). With the 11's, the heel strap feels utterly useless as it barely touches the back of my foot at all. Width-wise it's obviously looser. The 11's just look like clown shoes to me :)
I just want to make sure that I've sized correctly and I am getting the full comfort of the Croc shoes.

Its funny you all are saying they run big because I wear an 8 and have a pair of Crocs Specialist in 8 and they seem to run small. After wearing them for a while, the tips of my toes hurt.
I wear nothing but Crocs Capri flip-flops most of the time. I work in a family care home so I can wear what I want and I LOVE the Crocs flip flops.
