CRNA

Why are instructors and professors in nursing school so adamant about starting at med-surge. I heard this my entire years of the accelerated program I went through. Why cant they speak on an individual basis?

Say hey if you have the confidence go for the speciality you want. I got hired right out of school in a cardiac icu, and now the next the issue thats presented itself is some nurses telling me that I will not be ready for CRNA school. Please stop trying to kill dreams. Encourage the new nurses and for do not try and crush others who want to be more. You may come into your job and hate it, but we are not all made the same.

Congrats definitely on everything. Hope you are successful in your endeavor.

So update... I have an interview coming up so now I wait.

So less than a year ago I posted on here with a moment to just vent my frustration with the negativity sent my way. I am happy to announce I was accepted in a program and I start next year. This was after hearing day one from every and anyone how I should keep waiting. I can say the fight is within me and knowing we are not all made equal will either make or break you. Only you know your strength to either fight or just give up. Good luck to anyone else hoping to be a CRNA and they can possible read this one day and realize a no is never the end of the world.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Idk you obviously but I felt your pain in your original post. I understand that your rant could have come off the wrong way for some but the negativity of people in life who tell you no, you can't do it...it's frustrating. Way to prove them WRONG! Well, on getting accepted, now you have to prove them wrong again and I'm sure you will :) Maybe you can post here again once you graduate. I'm sure school will be tough but remember all the naysayers and let them be your motivation. Best of luck to you and thanks for the inspiration!
