Hello everyone,
I have been trying to look into details on the CRNA schools in NC. I have reviewed the websites for UNC Charlotte, ECU, and Wake Forrest Baptist. Some questions have come to mind and hoping someone here can help me answer them:
I know there are many forums on the interview process of each of these. I was hoping current or past students had any opinions/reviews of how the program actually was once in. After graduation did you feel well prepared to take on being a CRNA, did you feel the program was lacking anything?
I was reviewing the curriculum for each of them and it appears all courses for ECU and Wake Forrest Baptist are directed specifically with anesthesia, but with UNC Charlotte some are not. Such as the 'biostatistics, applied physics and chemistry', from my understanding those are all encompassing courses not just focused on anesthesia, does this sound correct?
I'm in the process of studying for the GRE and just had my first shadow with a CRNA yesterday, to ensure that this is really what I want to do. After this one day I feel even more confident that this is what I want to do. As for applications and looking competitive for the interview process; Any opinions on how many times/hours should someone shadow a CRNA before applying to school?
If anyone wants to throw in any other experiences of the application/interview process I'd appreciate that too.
Thank you everyone in advance! I always appreciate reading through these blogs.
