I never know how to answer this one! I know they want people who are assertive but not aggressive, because those are the people who lose their clinical sites. But obviously nobody is perfect, so I never know what a balanced answer is.

In terms of my own personal experience, I applied last year with minimal ICU experience (I started floating in 2016 but didn't actually transfer out of the ED until Jan 2017). I applied to 3 schools and as expected, received 3 rejections. This year I'm reapplying for one, as their first DNP class, and another one where I'm currently located travel nursing, as well as a 3rd program I had not previously applied to. Those are just so far this year. I plan on taking the GRE this summer and applying more places this Fall. My GPA is pretty bad, because I've gone to several different schools and not everything transfers the same, it's anywhere from a 3.04 to 3.3. But I took grad-level patho, and O-chem last year. So that should show motivation.
