I will say this-- if you've got a passion for CRNA, you should go for it!
There's quite a few nurses who go for CRNA after NP; check out DavidWarrenNP on social, he's shared his journey from NP to CRNA 😉
I'd also encourage you to join our Free community, specifically for nurses pursuing CRNA; you'll get more feedback and insights.
You can do so here: https://www.cspaedu.com/community
Cheering you on- you got this!
Hello! I'm in a similar boat. I did a year on the Neuro ICU when I was a new grad originally with the plan to apply to CRNA school. I felt discouraged and conflicted and left the Neuro ICU after a year. I began working outpatient for a couple of years and started pursuing an FNP that I'm less than a year from completing. A few months ago I took a job in a PACU and the CRNAs all love their jobs. I am now considering going for a post-masters ACGNP certificate to go back to the ICU as an NP. I feel as though I will regret it if I don't at least position myself to apply in a few years.

Have you shadowed a CRNA? If you can get a couple shadowing sessions in, this would help you determine if CRNA is truly your passion!

So I'm considering pursing my CRNA after just completing my FNP degree. I got it to have more options for working and to work from home possibly but I can't help but feel like I'm going to regret not getting this DNP LOL. Anyone else in the same boat?
