Critical Internship vs Acute Care Internship?

Published

I recently graduated and I am looking for jobs to apply to. I thoroughly loved my critical care clinical rotation and have been convinced that I should just go straight into a critical care internship that I have found, but recently someone made a good point to me that an acute care internship might be better because I will have more patients to manage and will be able to learn how to perfect my skills and do them quicker. Now I'm just not sure what I should do, I still think that critical care is in my future but should I wait?

They say the best place to start is Med/Surg in your 1st year because you get to do all kind of procedures. I want to work in ICU but am starting out in Tele (more stable pts, I also like Tele too). I would recommend Intermediate (Acute) care but most people who start out in ICU do fine.
