Transitions into ICU from post-operative nursing . . how to do

Hi all,

I'm currently a floor nurse on a post-operative floor. Our patients have a wide range of surgeries. I'm wondering about how to transition from being on the floor to being in Surgical ICU. Are there any training programs out there besides the one offered by the hospitals? I'm interested in learning more about training programs for the ICU in Orange County, CA.

I think the ANCC one is for facilities only. I found one...I don't know how good it is in CA.....Critical Care Certification | CSHS

I would also call the local facilities and ask if they allow outside nurses to join the class....sometimes they will do this to fill or make a class. Pricey but worth it.
