I'm an RPN currently enrolled in a nursing lab interpretations course. I'm stumped on the following question. Been thinking for the last couple nights, and have decided to ask my good friends at AN.

The practice of being NPO for a routine test is likely to be detrimental for an adult female who has a:

  • Hemoglobin (Hgb) of 100g/L
  • Red Blood Cell Count (RBC) of 6.2 x 10^12/L
  • Hematocrit (HCT) of 30%
  • White Blood Cell Count (WBC) of 3.5 x 10^9/L

I put this as a list, but it is MC ie A, B, C, D. I'm leaning towards C, though all values are considered a bit low from normal. And it doesn't specify what the routine test is.

Any nurses with lab experience who can help?
