Hi Friends,
Has anyone encountered a problem with credentialing or licensure in Florida as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, with the degree obtained from Drexel. Are there any special provisions that need to be met before being able to practice in Florida in this specialty. If anyone could quickly outline the steps needed to get this credential and practice in Florida, including the necessary practicums, it would be very helpful.
I am curious and enthusiastic about the whole process of living in FLorida, getting the degree by extension via Drexel, and remaining here for superviosn and practice here. Anbody here any scuttlebut about possible snags?
Right on!

np primary care provider project
acnp understands the need for nps to be recognized and reimbursed as primary care providers of health care, including the opportunity to be included on all insurance provider panels. this will allow patients to choose nurse practitioners for their health care regardless of the setting the np is working in, thereby increasing access to care for all people.
in 2000, former acnp medicare consultant margie koehler developed the np primary care provider project, a listing of participating acnp state affiliates with information about what each has gained or not in terms of primary care provider status. since that time, a subcommittee of the public policy committee (ppc) has been formed to continue the work of gathering data from the states on this issue. the project contains information from five categories:
