Hey guys!
Didn't see a current thread so I thought I'd make one for those writing their CPNRE exam this fall . I'm currently set to write my exam in October and I'm super nervous . Hoping to keep in contact with other's writing during this time so we can exchange study tips and keep each other up to date regarding when results are being announced .
So far I've been using the prep guides along with my school notes & the saunder's book for the areas I feel weaker in. I'm mainly just unsure if I am studying effectively. Those who have previously wrote the exam and passed are also free to drop some tips
Hey guys .... goodluck to everyone. Could anyone tell me areas to study if they can remember? Please it would be helpful.
I don't think anyone can tell you which areas YOU need to study because we are all stronger in different areas and with the exam you kinda have to be ready for anything. I haven't taken the exam as of yet but i've been studying the practice questions from prep guides 3-5.
I set a timer giving myself 1 minute to complete each question & then go through the answers and rationales. I look at not only why an answer is correct but why the other answers are wrong. Any areas I feel I am unclear about or struggled in I write them down and do a quick overview of the nursing considerations.
The most important thing to do from what I've heard is to focus on the prep guide questions because they give you an idea of how questions on the test will be formatted and what they are looking for in terms of answers. I'm going to do the predictor test tomorrow to get a better view of which areas I may need to touch up on and continue to go from there.
You can purchase the prep guides and predictor test here: Assessment Strategies Inc.
