hello! i just applied for the cpne. i am attending lynn's workshop next month. i was thinking about attending a second workshop and need some advice from those that have gone to workshops and been through cpne.

due to $$ limitations, i am trying to figure out the best time to take the second one and also taking into consideration the cost of the workshop and travel. lynn has another one in may that is in a neighboring state and is only $200 since i will have attended the first one of hers.

any advice on what month to take the second one? what about taking two from the same instructor? would it be better to go to one of the other ones or is lynn's good enough to go twice?

any help would be appreciated!!!

thanks!

A workshop is NOT necessary for passing the CPNE.

I did it without one and passed all of my lab stations and PCS's with no repeats.

what did you use to study and prepare besides the cpne study guide? where did you test?

Sweattart,

Thanks for posting that. I can't afford a workshop. Me and a friend are studying together and we are requeting to go to same site/same weekend. She has set up a lab station and a dummy for us to practice. We get together every saturday. Having someone to study with is great!!!

i used rob's cpne videos, and i used the last pages of the cpne study guide. i printed those out and memorized what they would be checking off.

i set up a lab station, and then got a skype buddy that i skyped with and did the labs with.

it worked, and i was able to get through with no repeats.

I went to Lynn's workshop twice and after the first time rarely looked at the Excelsior guide again. The first time was great because it organized how to study for the CPNE. I bought her careplan book and did it before the first workshop, the second time was to reinforce that I was on the right track. Also used her skills lab video almost every day to practice with.

For the people that practice without a workshop and passed, very good for them, but I loved Lynn's materials and passed CPNE, 1st time, no repeats. The others in my group one girl passed, one guy failed the labs ond 2nd try and another guy was on his 3rd attempt, had crappy attitude, was mean, and angry. He didn't pass either.

I rarely post on these boards because after CPNE I shredded Lynn's material and BURNED my CPNE study guide, you won't want to think about if for month's. But for Lynn I would make a post, LOVED HER WORKSHOP!! Worth the money.

Good Luck.
