Where do you work? :)
I work inpatient, with a variety of specialties as well as med/surg kiddos. So I bought a review book, did the questions in the back to "freshen up", and spent my time really studying the material that I don't see often - like heart stuff.
Hope this helps.
I passed easily.
I didn't bother with the class. Do you still have your peds book? You can brush up on weirdly specific stuff with that. My hospital offers the classes and materials to all employees. I brushed up on GI because I felt like that was my weakest area...other than that I really didn't study. I work hem/onc so I rarely see those conditions. I passed it easily, and I didn't think the test was bad at all. Make sure you're solid on growth and development stuff!
I rented 7 books from the college library and just did all the test questions from the back.
I bought a very helpful book from the CPN website but it was very expensive. I joined Peds nurses society for a discount.
CPN website has all the content criteria broken down into sections. It's basically everything learned in school.
The content was exactly what was on the website. Developmental milestones are key but any Peds nurse should have them memorized for work.

I would like to know what if it is strictly needed to register for the class to prepare for the Certification board or buying the materials for example, from Nurses Builders, and preparing myself is enough? Some tips here would be appreciated. The class is awfully expensive
thanks
