Cpcc nursing applicants for 2014 spring semester

Published

Hello everyone!! I just handed in my application for the 2014 spring semester at central piedmont community college. I was wondering if anyone else has handed in their application and would like to share there teas scores as well as their points. I am super nervous. I am also going to apply for mercy school of nursing as well. I hear that there program is awesome. Cpcc has really high standards for the teas exam, so I'm worried my scores won't be good enough. My over all individual adjusted score is a 75%. My math is an 87%, science 75%, and reading is an 81%. I have 17 points overall with straight A's.

Hi Danidello.

I also applied. My overall teas score was 81.3. Reading was an 88. Math 76. Science 75. English 90. Not the best but Im hopeful. I also have 17 points.

That's really good. When I handed in my appliation last week she told me that there were only 20 applicants so far. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Did you apply to any other schools?

Wow. For some reason I thought there would be many more applicants. So far CP is the only school that I have applied to. If I dont get in I will try Gaston and Mercy next semester. I wonder when we will get an answer. Im trying not to think and worry about it but it's hard not to.

I applied last week. I had a 91% overall, %90 reading, %100 math. I am a transfer student with 9 Gen Ed points. I hope this will be sufficient!!! Studying for the TEAS test sucked. I don't remember having to study such a broad amount of material ever in my life.

I don't think the Gen Ed points really matter at all. They take the top 50 TEAS scores period, and that is it. IF #'s 45-60 happen to tie with say a %75, then they will look at the Gen Ed points and accept those with the most.

When i spoke with lady on the nursing admissions committee, she said that they usually get about 150 applications twice a year. She also mentioned that acceptance notifications will be in October...

I applied to CHS for spring 14 & got denied. Their application requirements are completely different than CPCC. They strictly go by Cum. GPA & SAT/ACT scores.

Mcapmike,

With that teas score, Im sure you are in there. October seems so far away.

I know. I hate waiting!

I can't believe how full classes are already. How far in advance do you have to register to get into A&P? There are like 25 sections, and every single one is full...

You have to register pretty early at CPCC. And priority registration is based on the number of credits completed. So if you havent completed many classes, you will pretty much get what's left after those with the most credits choose their classes.

Wow @mcapmike those teas scores are really good! I really had a hard time with that test. I have been out of high school for 10 years and forgot most of that material. I went in to speak to the nursing advisor and she saw my teas scores and said if she were me she would hand in the application anyway which gave me some hope. I disagree with the fact that they think if you don't do we'll in the teas you are going to have a hard time In the program. I took micro biology and anatomy 2 this past semester and got an A in both. Mercy school of nursing has there application deadline for October 1st so I am going to apply there as well. Their semester will start in may 2014. I am using this for my back up plan.

Try mercy... They are accepting applications until October 1st for their spring semester.

I heard that letters have already started going out. Anybody hear anything yet?
