Dear Mrs. *****,

I am interested in a career in Nursing and would like to inquire about positions at *****************. I believe I can provide high quality and compassionate care that is outlined on your website. I'm energetic, I have a positive attitude, and a passion for learning.

I am a Licensed Practical Nurse and graduated from *********** in May 2011. My clinicals included *********** and **************, where we learned personal patient care, proper hygiene, transportation, and cared for many diabetic patients. I enjoyed the one on one interaction with the patients at ****** and *********. Our medical-surgical rotation at ************ was exciting and fast-paced, I loved every minute of it. Working directly with patients with gastrostomy tubes, nasogastric tubes, tracheostomies, and ventilators, it was a great experience. I provided wound care and improved upon my medication pass skills. Our other clinicals included mental health at ************, pediatrics at ***************, maternity at the school's simulation lab, and leadership at *********************.

As a new graduate I believe I can bring a new energy to The ***********. New graduates can be molded into the nurse that you want and need. My schedule is flexible and I am available immediately. I appreciate you taking the time to read over my introduction and I hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

*********************

Obviously names of Hospitals/People have been removed.

I feel sort of lost when it comes to cover letter writing. I don't want to sound like another lemming, but don't want it to be seen as too informal. Any suggestions for the cover letter? Also, any ideas on a resume that details unrelated work experience, or go with a nursing cv that states relevant clinical experience.

Thanks everyone!
