Covenant School of Nursing Fall 2010

U.S.A. Texas

Has anyone else applied for the Fall 2010 nursing class at CSON?

Do you guys know if Covenant has accreditation from any college yet? I know they have NLN and TSB, but I also know they are working hard at trying to set up an affiliation with Lubbock Christian U.

I have heard that they are trying to become affiliated with LCU as well. One of the ladies that I work with said that in the Covenant town hall meeting (for covenant employees) to meet the new CEO of the hospital, the new CEO was asked about this and he said that they were in fact working on it and it would be in the next year or so....IDK. That would be really nice to be able to just get the BSN thru CSON/LCU.

Are you going to CSON this fall as well??

Corlee, I was formally accepted into Covenant for this Fall. I made a tough decision. After adding up the total cost of CSON + LCU's BSN, going thru a BSN program was cheaper, for me. I dont know if LCU will be able to give CSON academic accreditation, which they really need. CSON was working on a bridge program with LCU. They need more, otherwise, you graduate from CSON without institutional accreditation. If all you want to do is get your RN and maybe live and work in LBK, then CSON is fine and so is the diploma. A friend of mine who retired as an RN with 32 years experience in LBK told me not to work for Covenant. Reason being that historically they lay people off randomly, no matter. She got her ADN from SPC and worked for UMC for 32 years without a layoff. As a CSON grad, you will also be limited as to where you can enter the RN to BSN program, bc Covenant is not recognized as "an educational institute that gives college credit for nursing courses." I've seen that line over and over again; so many employers want this now, so this is where it can really be a problem. You will graduate with NLN and TSB; that is good. I was told I could go for an online RN to BSN. Don't really want to go that route. Figure out what is best for you, what you want out of nursing, i.e., where you want to go. Do your research. I did mine. CSON just wasn't going to get it. Best of Luck!!

Well, I am already starting to CSON this Fall, actually in a little over 2 weeks so really it is to late to try to go anywhere else. I have several friends that have graduated from CSON and gone on to TTU and or LCU and received their BSn with no problems. it is most liekly that covenant will be accredited by LCU before my class graduates...at least that is what the CEO of Covenant has told us, as employees. I am an employee at Covenant already and have been for several years. I have been witness to the layoffs here, it is very rarely that they were nurses. I think CSON is a good fit for me and I do not plan to stay in Lubbock much longer after I finish nursing school. Good luck to you! :-)

Best of Luck, Corlee!!

Please make sure your facts are acurate before you lead someone in any direction. It is extremely important to be well informed before you give any information about a program. If anyone has any quesitons for Covenant School of Nurisng I would enjoy talking with them and they can reach me at [email protected], or by cell at 806-773-5696.

CSON has a new formed partnership with LCU. Students are still eligible to recieve their RN once they successfully complete our 2 year program, but we now have a seamless transition to BSN with the help of LCU. For more details please check out the details at htts://cson.covenanthealth.org or email [email protected].

I would like to know how does the CSON's placement? by GPA or ATI's score or lottery?

Is there a long waiting list?

Thanks

Hi everyone, I am waiting for the accepted letter from CSON for Fall 2017 program. However, I wonder that if they need me to write the thank you letter after an interview? Thank you for your answer.
