Course objectives

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this is repeated material, but I searched and could not find a direct answer.

When I pay for a course I am assuming Excelsior gives you the course objectives and then it is up to us to find and study the material to meet those objectives? No matter what material we use; nursing books, internet, or those whom choose to use Rue or TCN. Am I understanding this correct?

Secondly, I am wondering if anyone has recommendations as to which nursing book were there favorite study guides? I myself am not choosing Rue or TCN.

Thank you so much!

Jen

Kinda sort of. You have the Excelsior Content Guide for each exam, its basically your outline or objectives. YOu must know what it tells you on the content guide. Each guide has the recommended textbooks that they take their material from, so those are the best to use.

I have the MS text, Psych, Fundamentals and I also used StudyGroup/Guide 101 and my yellow Saunders Comprehensive Review, in addition to the practice exams.

My favorite one was the Saunders. You also don't need the exact edition of each text, 1-2 editions back is much cheaper and covers the same stuff. For example, the MS text is a huge amount of money, like $180 or more. I got 1 edition back BRAND NEW for $20.00
