Couple questions about units

what is a tpu or an ima?

individual mobilization augmentee (ima)

imas are reservists who are required to perform two weeks of annual training (at) only.

troop program unit (tpu)

tpu positions are at various locations across the country. once assigned, soldiers are required to perform a minimum of 12 days of annual training (at) and 48 inactive duty training periods per year.

while in the usar i was assigned as a tpu, so if you have more questions regards to same post'em up here.

So reservists that are IMA's only do two weeks a year? That's it???

... and TPU's do 12 + 48 inactive days? Can they do all 60 days at once?

(that's of course if they don't get called up...)

No, a TPU Soldier is assigned to a specific Reserve Unit that meets one weekend a month [plus, will do the min. 12 days AT w/Unit, or other approved Army training]. Therefore, the TPU Soldier is counted in the numbers for that Unit for monthly battle assemblies [i.e. drill weekends].

BTW, since I was not IMA can't help you in that regards.
