please!!
i did a nutritonal paper and i need to cite this website. i got really confused when i went onto this apa instructional website because it listed different kinds of citation format for different type of website used.
the website i used was one where i could plug in the foods and come up with the nutritional values. so here's how i wrote it in the reference page:
(2009, october 30). myfoodapedia retrieved oct 30, 2009 from world wide web:
http://www.myfoodapedia.gov/
does that look right?

I don't have a copy of the APA manual at home but I think if you are citing an ENTIRE website it is sometomes sufficient to place it within the text rather than include it on the reference page. However, if on the reference page, you will need to state the name of the government agency -- in your case it is The Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion and they are part of the USDA.
It depends how complete you want to be.

General Format of Internet or Web sources:
Author known:
Last name, First Initials. (Date in year, month day). Title of the web page/article /chapter. In Title online book/journal/complete website. Retrieved Month day, year, from URL
Author unknown:
Title of web page/article/chapter. (Date in year, month day). In Title online book/journal/complete website. Retrieved Month, day, year from URL
It should also be formatted as a hanging indent.
I just noticed that you are citing an organization as a Website author.
You should then format it this way (APA section 4.16 175)
Exampe:
Greenpeace. (2006, February 17). Melting Greenlands fuels sea level rise. Retrieved Month, day, year, from website link
