Published

Hi , I've been practicing correctional nursing for 4 yrs+. Recently have been offered dialysis position. I need some basic dialysis info--how to access fistulas with the least amount of discomfort.

What to look for as far as symptoms while on the dialysis machines? Favorite machines? Are Hubers used for access--I'll be receiving trainning--I'd like to go in with a liittle basic knowledge! Any help out there?

I do have 20+ nursing/administrative backround.

Thank you much--SKVS

Hello, SKVS,

I see you are contemplating a career as LNC? Great!

How can I assist you?

Hi,

Thanks again for the quick response!

I live in the Midwest---I've received salary data and surveys from the AALNC, but it doesn't seem to jive with other data I've looked at, in respect to what the LNC yearly salary achievement may be.

My career switch is greatly anticipated--but salary is a crucial factor.

I can market myself with the best of them, but if the market is not ready for the LNC I'm not in the position to wait for market catch up.

Can you shed any reality on this portion of the LNC career?

The AALNC online 8 module course is comparative to the 2 semester program offered by Kaplan U.--Chicago style.

It is so nice to speak to a real person !

Take care,

SKVS

Hello again, SKVS,

I've not seen what he AALNC has as salary potential. I would be interested to see what they are saying. I should know this, but haven't made an attempt to get this information. Yearly figures will vary greatly from LNC to LNC and from region to region.

The LNC can charge $100 - $150.00 per hour to review and complete a case as the consultant. If the LNC is an expert witness, the fee is much higher. Some LNCs will start out charging $80.00/hr. and then increase as business deems. The median fee is around $120.00/hr.

As for the market being ready? Yes. The attorney-client must be educated about the role of the LNC. That's the biggest hurdle you face.

siri,

Are you speaking from your experiences? I'm trying to decipher how many hats you wear.

What is your practice?

Do you have any info on marketing tools for the LNC/or perhaps where to look? I'd like to begin marketing with the start of my 2nd semester.
