Cool Jobs to do after you gain ER experience

Published

SO, I realllly love my job in the ER started in the ER as a new grad, hated it at first, now that Im finally starting to feel a little more at ease I've been wondering what kind of jobs are out there that ER nurses can venture into but along the same line of work of course,I know that I need to stay in the ER for a while to gain more experience but I was always like to plan for the future!

Good gosh. You people are really busting my jewels over this one.

Just bringing you up to date for the year 2010. I hadn't heard such stereotyping of nurses or women in about 30+ years except by those who are turf protecting or just out touch with the modern world in this country.

but for most nurses (the vast majority of which are women) it doesn't seem like a valid career move or something most women would enjoy.

There are many opportunities men and women can explore in all professions related or not to medicine. A man should not have any doubts about becoming a nurse because of such stereotyping nor should women believe becoming a Paramedic and/or FF is off limits. In fact, I would probably say most of the arguments made against nurses becoming Paramedics are from the assumption RNs are "women" which is why the "extrication" or "dirty ditch" statements always come up.

The one thing about nursing and finding unique careers is that you are only limited by what you allow short-sighted and sometimes narrow minded people tell you what you can not or should not do.
