Convert Pediatric Diaphragm to Bell

I am attempting to convert my littmann classic III's pediatric diaphragm into a bell, but the diaphragm will not come off. I had no problems when I tried to remove the adult side, but the pediatric side will not budge! Any tips for getting it off? My nails break every time I try to roll it off.
