conversion RMN to RGN

hello everyone,

This is my first message in this forum. I am a mental health student nurse. This enquiry is for a friend who is qualified but want to change to RGN. I just want to know if anyone knows any university in Uk (pref London) that offers conversion course from RMN to RGN and how many years. I have tried using Google to search but it always comes up with conversion from diploma to degree and not the speciality. Your response will be appreciated.

Welcome to allnurse, you often hear that people want to convert from RN to RMN, but I do believe it may be more difficult the other way round. Are you living in UK because rather than using the internet it would be better for you to speak to a university direct. They will then be able to advise, and any department should be able to ans you.

I dont know where abouts in the UK you are but Glasgow Caledonian University offers conversion courses from RMN to RN, in fact they offer conversions from any branch of nursing to another.

Usually they take 18 months but that can differ depending on your experience.
