I have read what the board has posted and I read and commented on the earlier thread that you posted. However, from what I read I gather that the board is only trying to improve the quality of nursing education here in NC. I understand that this may change the ADN programs here in NC, as an ADN graduate that distresses me as well.
However, nursing is a dynamic profession and technologies and treatments are ever advancing. It is only logical to conclude that the state of nursing education must change as well to accomodate the changes within practice. I agree that we already have a shortage of nursing instructors and these new rules will not help matters any, but if these new rules improve the quality of nursing faculty, then the quality of nurses graduating from these programs will also improve.

Interpretation: if these proposals are enacted, many, many ADN and LPN programs across the state will close.
