Contract approved by county nurses
"It worked out great," said Pam Barnett, a nurse at Santa Paula Hospital and a member of the CNA bargaining committee. "I was really pleased with the contract, and we had an overwhelming number of nurses approve it."
Barnett said the most important aspect of the new contract is a provision guaranteeing that county clinics and hospitals will keep enough nurses on duty to meet the state's minimum nurse-to-patient ratios.

Another satisfying example of the Frederick Douglass quote, "Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never did and it never will." Congratulations to those nurses who stuck together in solidarity with their bargaining team as advocates for their patients and their profession!
