Continuing My BSN in the U.S.

Some say time is gold. Others, it's priceless. But recently, it just has been freakishly expensive. I am a nursing student in the Philippines, hoping to become an RN someday, and praying that caring for others may become my career. But if I started from square one here in this country, I may not be even able to take care of myself... due to the tuition and the longevity of obtaining that BSN degree. It's because here in California, you need to either have an LVN or Associate's degree, become an RN, and eventually study a little more to earn their Bachelor's.

Now how did I seem to overcome this financial and time-constraining fact of life? I tried to be street smart. In my case, since I didn't go to high school in this country, I wasn't able to go to any universities that gave me any kind of grants or scholarships. So it was straight to community college for me. If I did continue with that option, it was gonna be 4 years of that, 1 year waiting list, and 2-3 years of the BSN. A total of 7-8 years. Plus, did I mention the tuition already? My family is really not well-off, so I really needed to have more options. Thankfully, one option popped up through asking around and of course, the internet. Nursing in the Philippines does not take you that long, and does not cost you as much. It would take you a maximum of 5 years (when I enrolled it only took 4), it was straight to the BSN program, and what you would pay for a semester, let's just say the tuition would make you smile compared to the ones here. So yes, that's what I did. Now though, I want to continue studying here, because I already skipped the ASN or the LVN part, together with the money part, and hopefully and can just continue and finish the BSN part.

It would be so kind if somebody out there could help me with my problem. Because I have asked around, but it's always the same thing. I have to go back again, back to the beginning, take the ASN / LVN course then gradually up to the BSN.

Anyone know of any school in Northern California that would still accept me and allow me to continue my education and finally I can get that very elusive BSN degree?

Thank you for your time.
