I know I could research this, but I'm gonna take the lazy way and ask....
During clinicals, I met an RN, and during conversation, she said that she wanted to go back to school and get her BSN (she had an ADN) but that her A & P's and Micro were beyond the 5 year limit, and that she didn't want to have to retake them.
I just completed my ADN RN in December, and I have full intentions of continuing on with my BSN. But after school, I need to go right to work, and I was going to sit out a semester, or two, while I get on my feet and find a BSN program to get into. I took my A & P's in 2006. Does that mean if I am not working toward my BSN this year, that I will have to retake those courses?
Thanx,
Jimmy

I'm not sure where you are from, but in Pittsburgh there are several RN to BSN programs that have very different requirements. The program I went through only required that you had a diploma or ADN, since most (if not all) programs require A & P and micro. I do know that the University of Pittsburgh requires all science courses to be taken within the past 5 years for their RN to BSN program. I would definitely ask because it seems to vary!

It totally depends on the program. You just have to look at the ones you are interested in to find out.
