Contact nurse manager directly - a good idea??

Published

Hi, I am a new grad looking at out of state of jobs (moving to Texas), and without prior connections to hospitals I want to ensure that my interest in these positions are clear.

I have done research with mixed results as far as contacting the nursing manager of the unit of your interest directly. At this point I have submitted my application and its current status is: "Your application has been submitted for consideration. If the hiring manager selects you as a top candidate, we will contact you to schedule an interview."

I was able to get a phone number for the nurse manager of the unit of my interest, should I call? Suggestions on what to say?

Thank you!!

Hmm, good question. I recently applied for five jobs and am wondering if I should also contact the hiring managers.

Following.

How long has it been since you have put in your application?

I always have once I have an application in. I'm 2/2 for getting hired after doing so

About 2.5 weeks @Coolkids

and that's awesome to hear @Triddin, what do you say when you do make contact with the managers?

usually something of the lines of hi, my name is so and so, I recently applied for days posting and was wondering if I could drop by to introduce myself in person/ see the unit. Is there any time in particular you are free.
