Considering travel nursing

I'm a Canadian RN with 15 years experience in psychiatry considering doing some travel nursing in Florida. I've signed up with one agency so far, have yet to write my NCLEX though have researched the ease. I have a dog that I would bring with me. Is it a good idea to sign up with a few agencies? And what questions should I be asking a recruiter? To you seasoned travel nurses, what do you know now that you wish you knew when just starting out? ANY advice would be appreciated! Especially from Canadian nurses that had info on immigration, tax issues etc.

Thanks!

Welcome to Allnurses! All your questions have been addressed in recent threads here. If you start reading through threads, you will find answers to questions you didn't even know you had. Besides reading in this forum about travel issues, use the search box to look for threads about Canadians coming to the US. Lots of tips about the bureaucratic processes for Canadians.

If you are on facebook there are also many helpful groups such as travel nurse gypsies. Its a great place to network and get advice! I go back and forth between here and there. I believe the gypsy group has a file with questions to ask recruiters or potential employers! HTH!
