Hi all,
I am intersted in learning more about school nursing in Massachusetts. Could any school nurses answer a couple questions?
How stressful is your job?
What are you hours?
What do you do during the summer?
Do you have any other responsibilities within your school (lunch duty, etc?)
What state do you work in, and what is the salary?
And for Massachusetts school nurses, can you tell me about the salary scale in MA?
Thanks!

hi all,i am intersted in learning more about school nursing in massachusetts. could any school nurses answer a couple questions?how stressful is your job? it varies from day to day. on a day to day basis most of my stress comes from not being able to reach parents of sick children. you have to be on your toes and ready for an emergency but most days it's pretty routine.what are you hours? 7:30-3:30what do you do during the summer? stay home with my children :)do you have any other responsibilities within your school (lunch duty, etc?) no lunch, bus or recess duty. i do help out at our fall festival but can't really think of anything else not "nurse" related. occasionally i'll talk to a class about something like handwashing or speak to them on "community helper day". the times where other stuff would come up that i might could help with like lunch duty or recess duty are also my busiest in the clinic.what state do you work in, and what is the salary? georgia, about $23,000 for 190 days. i'm an rn with a bsn but my job could be filled by an lpn in my county and we are all paid the same. we're considered "classified" like the receptionists and custodians instead of "certified" like the teachers, counselors, and admin.and for massachusetts school nurses, can you tell me about the salary scale in ma?thanks!
