I have just graduated from UCI's biology program with a 2.92 GPA overall. Did not really think about what I wanted to do after graduating until the last quarter of college and settled on nursing. My counselor recommended that I look at Entry-Level Master's programs. However, because of my procrastination, I did not have time to take microbiology lab and anatomy with lab which are major pre-requisites for pretty much all of the nursing programs. Many programs also have a 3.0 GPA minimum and I don't really have an excuse for my low GPA. I've attached the biology and chemistry parts of my transcript. Is there any advice that can be given for my situation? Thanks ahead of time.

Well, to begin with, your situation is not as hopeless as you may think. You actually got some nice grades in your science courses. You already have human physiology and microbiology that you may transfer. However, since you already have a BS, you should go for ABSN. Many schools do not really care for your BSN GPA, as long as you have a prior degree. Some schools do consider your undergrad GPA. Ultimately, research schools that will only look at pre-req GPA and/or entrance exam scores. If you do not care which route to go, you can also consider ASN. These programs are competitive but less so than BSN; and their starting GPA I think is 2.5.
Thanks for the advice. I'll start looking into those programs.

As I only have experience with ADN programs in SoCal, I am unable to give advice on the Accelerated BSN programs. Whatever school you decide to look at, see if you are able to make an appointment with a nursing advisor to go over your transcripts from UCI to see which courses can be used. My school gives extra points to people with a degree and only requires those people to take the required science courses (you do not have to take the general education courses). I am not sure how far you're willing to commute or where you are exactly in SoCal now that you have graduated, but if you'd like I could PM you a few schools I know to help limit your search.
Yeah, sure! That'd be really helpful, thanks. I'm currently in Modesto and know of one junior college here that offers an ADN program. If you know of any others, that'd be great.
