Getting a CT license endorsed from another state

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a CT license endorsed from another state (IL)? Is it relatively week or does it take months?

Thank you!

No endorsement to any state takes only a week. Some states will issue a temporary license pending their final decision. And if the state has walk-thru capabilities, things are faster for a temporary license.

But permanent in one week? Never.

Too many documents need to be sent in to them, and then evaluated.

Illinois takes months and months to endorse to.

Specializes in ICU.

It took me two months to get my license by endorsement in IL, and that did not include the time it took me to fill out the paperwork, get my fingerprints, etc.

I got my license endorsed from MA, and started probably 4-5 months before I moved to CT. Getting all the paperwork together was a PITA. Good luck!

Susanne,

I just want to let you know. I did get my official results for NCLEX sent from New Jersey Board of Nursing to the Illinois Board of Nursing. When I contacted IBON they said they do not do Licenceure by Examination/Repricosity!, and were not even able to tell me whether they had recieved my results.

I did ask to speak to a supervisor but did not get same. Anyway thats the update, dissappointing!!

Thanks for your replies. Do you happen to know how long it takes to get a temporary license while waiting for the actual license?

Valerie
