I just returned to school after 10 years and am in the process of completing my prerequisites to apply for nursing school. I am having a lot of trouble in biology, which is making me nervous about A&P and microbiology. I am thinking of just switching to the LPN program for now so I can get a job and get some experience. Then maybe down the road I'll try to become an RN. Is this beneficial or is it just better to stick with it and get my RN now? I have tried everything with bio...tutoring, studying, youtube and other websites and I just can't understand it. I would really like some advice because I'm not really sure which path to take. Thanks!

Well, if if the lpn programs around you are like the ones here, you'll still have to at least take A&P. The students in the lpn program at my school take a few of the courses (A&P 1 and 2, and Nutrition and a few others) as we do in the BSN program. But from what I've read, Louisiana seems to require more courses than most other states do for the LPN. I'm not saying that the lpn route wouldnt be good for you, just don't think that you'll get to cop out of the sciences. LPNs are nurses too.
