ex: mrsa patient can cohort with other mrsa pts and also who else? I heard there were alot of these on the nclex pn..
also for cdiff, tb etc? I am so lost

Well, cohorting is really not that difficult.
You can always put two people with the same disease together, and on the same type of precautions. You would not want to cohort MRSA with VRE because of the possibility of their combining and becoming more virulent.
Someone with a supressed immune system should be in a single room if possible, and not with anyone with something communicable. For example, you could room them with someone with an exacerbation of CHF or COPD, but not viral or bacterial pneumonia.
You would want to place two demented folks together because it makes monitoring them for safety easier.
