Concurrency issues of CA BON

Published

Has anyone completed the deficiency or concurrency issues for CA BON? If so, from what school you attended? Thanks

I only needed psych. My other friends needed psych and ob. I applied to all community colleges in LA. This is my review:

*Cerritos College: great school, all foreign and lvn to rn need to take 2 prerequisite classes 0.5 credits each. To be considered to the classes you need. I took them both. Excellent. But didn't applied there. the BON gave me the letter that explained that I needed psych in 08/11. Cerritos accept me on 09/11

* LATT: great school. Took psych and failed. I suffered a lost of a very close family member by that time and I couldn't concentrate enough. I Fail my math entrance test and I was A in math always!!! They accept me on fall semester 12.

* spring 13 I got recovered enough and called since dec and January to all colleges again. I got response on 3:

* Riverside CC

* ELac

*LATTC

LATTC is super good. The instructor is very good teaching and giving you that stress you need to succed. I was afraid because the last semester I didnt give my 100% and he knew my whipping side.

* I choose ELAC because my friends that took psych could take ob as well. So we stayed together. The dean is the instructor of psych and a very good nurse

Thanks for your reply. How much does it cost if you enroll for psyche or ob? How much per unit in every school? thanks

I had a bog fee waiver. I only paid 11 dollars for health something. And I used library books

Congrats on finding some schools! Can you tell us how many foreign students were in your class? From what countries are they from or was it mostly from just a couple of countries?

How was the part of getting accepted into the classes, was it tough or easy or ?

The numbers will vary every semester sue to many reasons.

At LaTTC they accept 6 every trimester. In my class we were 1 latina. 1 Ethiopian. 2 Russians. 1 from Philippines. 1 lvn to rn.

At ELAC they accept 12 every semester. In my class we were: 1 latina. 1 from Philippines. 1 chinese. 1 Ucranian. 2 armenians. 2 Russians. 4 from lvn to rn

Thank you for the reply. So while it's not impossible to get into a deficiency class in CA, it's extremely competitive in that there's only so many open spots per student per country.

This also helps to dispels the rumors that the CA BRN has been "unfair" to those thousands of us PH grads and nurses that were denied the ATT approval in that there are several other countries with the same educational deficient results.

As there has been some forum members who wished to entertain the thoughts of a lawsuit against the CA BRN, but can quickly see that such a filing would be as quickly dismissed as evident by the other affected students from the other countries.

The Phils was not singled out as some claimed.

Well. Some points to bold:

Colleges don't give a spot for each country. It goes by waiting list and i think if the waiting list has the same people from the same country it would not matter.

Also. Speaking with teachers and deans of the colleges that I pass through . Filling a complaint or something is in the peoples thinking, because MS is like 3 or 4 classes throughout the nursing school. It's not like psych or Ob, in those ones you received only one class and that's it. They know were they can place you. Also implicates other factors to consider. So I think teachers or deans are into it.

Also. I think all countries are different. And everyone needs a class or 2 in the country you are working on, not only US.

My 2 cents
