Hello! I have recently applied to CUI's Accelerated-BSN program and wanted to see if there are any other potential applicants. I went to the information session and got to hear personal experiences, but I wanted to hear more current/potential student's thoughts on the program.

Hi! I turned in my application earlier this week too. After going to an info session last year, Concordia's program is definitely what I'm looking for. Really hope to get in! My submissions are still under 'Pending', even though I turned in everything in person. Hope we hear back soon!
I have yet to turn in all the supplemental materials, just waiting on a letter of completion from a professor! Ahhh, I'm cutting it close haha.
Is this your first time applying also? Hope we both hear good things come June! (: What did you like about the university? I love that the faculty was sooo so welcoming during the info session. They seem to really want their students to succeed and thrive from the program.
This is my first time applying as well.
I agree, I fell in love with the welcoming staff and how informative and helpful they were.
The only downside for me, I think for this program is the price. I didn't realize how expensive the program was until a couple days ago. (had a mini freak out moment) BUT hoping that the program will be worth the short amount of time rather than going to to a 2.5 year program for a masters. Some masters programs are cheaper than Concordia though. However, 15 months is a short amount of time, which I'm hoping is worth the money!
One of my recs are still under "Pending" as well. Hopefully everything is turned in and received on time. Did you receive any confirmation yet?

I ordered all my transcripts early last month and they are all still pending too - guessing it's been a busy month for them since it's unlikely that all 4 of my transcripts got lost in the mail! The only thing that isn't pending according to my account is the $50 application fee.
Oh I know ): I'm hoping since I didn't use much of my FAFSA for my first degree, it will cover a good portion of my second degree. I'm sure it will be worth it though! You'll have to work with a preceptor your senior year, and they said MOST of the time that's your job interview. Most of the students will find a job right after graduation, so that's definitely comforting.
As for the documents, I hand delivered mine on Tuesday and nothing has been updated. I'm sure they're still sifting through everyone's documents. The waiting game begins!
Yeah, I think they are pretty busy right now. I sent an email just in case for my pending items and haven't gotten a response back. They're probably swamped.
Are your friends that got jobs right after graduation from Concordia? That's really good to hear that they did not have trouble finding one right after the program is over. I know people that struggle from other programs on finding jobs.
The waiting game truly begins now! Haha
I actually heard that from current students and professors at the info. session! A lot of people were concerned about finding jobs after, but they reassured us by letting us know you have to work with a preceptor your last semester. In addition to that, they really try their best to match you with the hospital/department you would want to work in (:
Yes! I'm so use to waiting so long to hear back, I was like omg I have to wait until June to hear something! Forgot it already is June, and hopefully we hear about interviews soon haha. Thankfully their admissions process seems pretty quick!
Did you hear anything back yet regarding the completion of your application?
I haven't gotten a confirmation yet. Not sure if I'm missing anything or if they're still just hashing out all the documents.
It looks like they have been updating/checking in documents! My transcripts are now recorded as received, but the other materials I submitted in person last week are still pending (which is not a surprise since I'm sure they had a huge influx of documents last week and everything is on paper!).
Yes! I turned in my packet last Tuesday, and received an e-mail today with an update on my application. I'm missing a transcript which I hand delivered the next day, so hopefully that will be updated soon too. They probably do have a lot to go through still, but I'm glad we get updates like these! (:

Hello!
I am a current prospective student who applied to the ABSN program at Concordia, Irvine. As all of us are probably doing, I am freaking out a little and checking my email more and more each day as the day get closer to the end of the month to see if I get an interview!!
I have only heard one complaint about the program from a professor who I used to go to school with: Unorganized materials and chaotic but that's what all nursing programs are lol (so have I heard). But other than that I have only heard really good things about the program.
