Concordia University Irvine Accelerated BSN Summer 2011

hey everyone,

just wanted to get a separate thread going for those of us who have applied to cui's absn program for the summer/fall 2011 entrance. has anyone been invited for an interview yet?

I know that some people (or maybe all of people accepted) got a phone call a few days ago inviting them into this class. From previous sememsters, I know not everyone got a call personally. Not sure why some do and some don't?

I was warned that if I got a small envelope in the mail vs. a large one, that wasn't good news. I believe they notify you either way. So, I got my "small" envelope today. I was thinking it was a denial, instead it was notifying me I was on the wait list. I spoke to another candidate I interviewed with and she also got wait listed. The letter was dated April 13.

FYI: Just spoke with Concordia...calls were only made if additional info was needed. :) Don't give up hope!

Did they mention anything else about acceptance? Such as how many students they accepted or how many are waitlisted?

No I didn't ask. But from what I remember from the interview, I think around 30-40 is accepted (depending on their clinical sites, whether there are enough) and then 10 waitlisted. I'm not completely sure on the numbers for waitlist so I wouldn't take my word though. I too got waitlisted.

Rumor is they got the clinical space for 40, but you know how "rumors" are. You just never know.

It seems that from so many students I've talked to, CUI was their first choice. I'm not thinking alot of the students that got into this cohort are going to decline! Maybe we will be blessed with a few spots opening up though and still have an opportunity! I'll post something if I hear back :up:

I got my official denial letter today that was also dated on the 13th. I have 2 science classes in progress (anatomy and micro) which is why I think I didn't get an interview. The letter said they would like for me to reapply June 1st which I definitely will. Then I'll be completely done with all my pre-reqs. That's only a month and a half away! Congrats to those who got accepted and sending good vibes for the ones waitlisted.

psych and beth see you guys soon...got the package and ready to rock n roll. i, too, live in irvine. we have to begin and complete the 2-religion pre-reqs before august...we should totally get together for coffee and study for both classes.
