Concordia University Irvine, ABSN Summer 2017

Published

Hello! I have applied to CUI's ABSN program for Summer 2017 and want to see if there are any other potential applicants and if anyone have heard back about interviews yet. Also, I would love to hear about current/past/potential student's thoughts and feedback on the program.

Thanks!

also, i am trying to create a Facebook group but i don't think i can make it by adding names because we're not friends on Facebook and your names don't come up when searching inside the 'create group' window. i think i'll be able to do it with someone's email address.

So I tried to create the group and I saw the whole email thing @elijah323. What I did was just add someone I was already friends with, that way we could get it going! I'll delete em' later! ;)

The group is called 'CUI ABSN Cohort 19' :)

Is the group specific to either cohort A or B?

Nope! The group is for both A and B :)

The FB group name is now "Concordia University Irvine ABSN Summer 2017". Just click to become a member!

Can anyone please share their acceptance stats? Like your undergrad GPA and science GPA, as well as work and volunteer experience?? PLEASEE

I'm in this program now and it is terrible. If I could go back, I would never have wasted my time and money on this program. Many of the instructors are not qualified. They can't find faculty to fill the spots so they are just having random people fill spots they are unfamiliar with. We, the students, have tried to give them feedback but they are not receptive. Do not waste your time or money. It is only going to get worse because they are expanding. You will probably pass the program eventually if you stick with it, but it really is not worth the money, time, or frustration. I can safely say that at least 90% of my class is unsatisfied with the program and would not recommend it to anyone right now.

Anyone else feels like Brandon121? I got an invitation for the interview for Fall. I actually applied for Summer but never heard back from anyone. I emailed them and was told I wasn't selected and can reapply for Fall. I never did but soon after received an email that my application for Fall is being accepted. I ignored the email and few days later received another one that the chemistry I took is wrong and I need to submit a proof that I am registered for the higher chemistry. It was too late to register so I ignored that email as well. Today I received my interview invitation. I feel they are a bit disorganized.

Meanwhile I got into a different RN program in a local community college but its a slower path. Is it worth to even go for the interview? After reading the last comment I am feeling discouraged.

Seems like a troll to me. The response is fairly vague. Concordia's NCLEX pass rate is in the 90%, same with retention rate for the past few years.

btw, did you move from alternate to accepted for PCC?

I didn't hear anything more from PCC. I was lucky to be selected as an altermate in GCC. They only have 5 alternates. They allow them to attend summer intesession. If someone drops out, I will start in Fall, if not, I have a space for Spring. I am taking 2 nursing glasses already. Did you apply to Concordia too? :)

Whoa?! Really? I feel a little taken back by this...Can anyone else please contribute their feelings/thoughts? I have an interview at Concordia on Thursday the 13th but have already got into a local program and trying to decide...

@sulagana -- What's PCC and GCC? Thank you.

Pretty sure Pcc is pasadena community college and gcc is Glendale community college.
