Concordia St Paul/Portland ABSN 2021

Published

Hello! I am planning to apply for the Concordia ABSN program that is online in Portland for Summer 2022. My grades aren't that impressive and I got a 66% on my TEAS test, but it seems like my advisor has pretty much guaranteed me a spot as long as I passed the TEAS exam. Are there any current students in the program? How has it been so far? How many times do you meet for in-person labs? Where are your clinical placements? Lastly, how difficult is this program being online?

Hey! I am in this program now. If you reach all of the admission requirements, you will get in. If they have too many people that get in for a certain semester, you will just be accepted for the next semester. I am in the second semester now and haven't had in person clinicals yet. We have 1 class with in person clinicals this term but the cohort is split for first half/second half and I am in the second half. The class is our population health class so we are at homeless shelters and giving head to toe assessments, covid tests and other random things. All other clinicals have been online. We were originally going to be in person this term but because of the COVID spike, they limited the amount of students and those spots went to 3rd/4th semester. As for labs, first term I had them 2 days a week, this term I only have them one. The program is honestly really disorganized and the first term will break you if you don't have healthy study habits. In my lab class alone (12 people), one didn't pass pharm and one dropped out. Someone in our cohort made a Discord channel for our cohort and it is extremely helpful to figure things out and form study groups. I really recommend it because students will respond faster than teachers when you have questions. Good luck!
