I deferred my Summer 2022 enrollment to fall 2022, so I just want to start a thread for this program to meet future classmates!!

It was pretty good. I do prefer face-to-face interviews because I can better gauge my responses and sense if I answered appropriately. The set up is a lot like the mock interview. Each question (6 in total) are given by a pre-recording of a faculty member who gives a very brief background of themselves and then asks a question. You then have 2 minutes to think and 2 minutes to answer (1 take only). Watch the prompted “training” videos at the beginning to fully feel prepared even if you did the mock questions.

I believe this school is truly trying to see who you are as a person and future nurse rather than the traditional questions/answers. So just breathe before each question and feel confident and of course be yourself!! 

No but I am a mom to two little ones (4 and 6 years old) so does that count? LOL

Oh okay! Would you say that the questions were really hard/in depth? or more basic? I just feel like 6 questions is a lot LOL! So I just don't know what they are expecting. Also was there a time you felt like it was a bit difficult to answer and you needed more time? IDK ahh so nervous!

I did! This isn’t my first time interviewing for nursing school (first time for Concordia though) so I basically went through all of my notes and tweaked them to update/refine. I also watched a few YT videos and looked at the recent 2022 nursing trends/nursing school interview questions/etc. I think all in all, if you can feel confident in yourself and why you want to be a nurse… you will do perfectly fine!!

Yes totally understand. They were pretty normal questions but you can tell they are really interested in you as a person rather than what you feel you should be (if that makes sense). The first question I rushed and should have elaborated on more… I unfortunately got nervous and was a tad bit quick in my answer. After that one… all of them seemed to be too short of time LOL (but I like to ramble so it was probably a good thing)!

Sorry for being so vague, and while I don’t care, I’m trying to be fair amongst other interviewers that didn’t get an insight ?.

Good luck to everyone interviewing! Just finished and it was very straightforward. Biggest advice: just be yourself and confident and if you stumble keep going!

Are you being recorded during your think time or do you get to press record when your ready?

You are only recorded when your think time is up. It will either automatically start recording (it counts down for you) or if you need less time you can select the “start recording” or “answer”.

I would say give yourself an hour to be safe because it’s super nerve wracking and there are moments where you can pause and take a mental break before watching the questions ?
