Concorde LPN - RN Program

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Hi All,

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Are there any here who have done the LPN to RN bridge at Concorde in the state of Florida (preferably South Florida). I'm curious about the testing out of pharmacology they have.

I graduated from Concorde last July. I passed my boards the first time but half of my class did not. I've been a tech for 13 years. My experience saved me. Their credits also don't transfer. I did graduate and I passed my boards. I made connections and worked very hard. I went straight into the ER. The program was unorganized and the staff I'm sure did the best they could. I would proceed with caution if they are still open. I had to teach myself and get creative with the scant rescources the school provided.

Hi! I'm considering Mercy RN. I already have a BS-bio, and a MHS-public health. I need a fast and affordable program.

I would love to talk to you about your final experience there. Have you completed your RN? Were you well prepared to the NCLEX? Most importantly what are the types of jobs one most likely to be competitive for? Do you have the full range of options? e.g. Peds, Maternity, ER, Med-Surg., Orthopedics, Mental Health, Mother-Baby .. What are you doing? What are your co-graduates doing ? I'm all ears !!! ?

My advice is to put your head down and do the work plus extra. Regardless of the program you attend, if you just practice nclex questions and get a job as a PCT to learn on the job you’ll be fine. There is an endless supply of quality lectures on any subject on YouTube. Just do it ?

I went to Concorde- not mercy

I am trying to sort out best options in Florida. What were the factors which moved you to choose Concorde ? Were you in the end happy with your choice? ?

Price and length of program. The program was unorganized although most programs are. I do not recommend this program. However, The dean and director were replaced the year I graduated. I can’t speak to the current administration.

I recommend getting a job at a hospital that offers employees a chance to go to RN school. For example Baycare is affiliated with SPC. You’ll have OTJ and a job when you graduate. It isn’t as much about the program as it is passing the test and getting a good job ?

Hi Unique nurse! I will look for Baycare - Thank you! ❤️

What is SPC?

What is OTJ?

So appreciate the tips

btw - what kind of nursing are you doing now? Why?
Can you see where the greatest demand lies?
ER
OR
ICU
Med-Surg
Oncology
NeoNat
Maternity/ L&D
Post Partum
[of course geriactrics but I'm not so keen on this ? ]

SPC is st Pete college. OJT is on the job training. If you don’t like geriatrics I suggest peds or Labor and delivery. All adult inpatient adult floors will have geriatrics. I can’t speak to which specialities need nurses more. I’m in the ER- I was a tech here prior to working as a nurse. I chose it because it was an easy transition. I want to move to the NICU, tho. Good luck!
