Compression stockings add an equal and constant pressure on your legs to improve circulation and help prevent leg fatigue. They also help in preventing spider veins and varicose veins.
Thank you so much!!

We usually have them on patients after surgery or if they are on prolonged bedrest to prevent venous stasis and blood clots in the legs. Many patients will also have SCD's (sequential compresssion devices) on over the TED's (compression stockings) when they come back from surgery if they will be in bed for a while. These are wrapped around the legs and they inflate on the legs and then deflate every few minutes. We take these off when patients are out of bed and begin to ambulate. The stockings may/may not come off at this time depending on MD orders.
