I'm currently taking Chem online. I would say keep in mind it depends on how comfortable you are doing labs at home. If the class has a wet lab component, which both chem and A&P do, you will be required to complete those labs. So far my at-home chem labs are fine. However, I'm seriously considering either on-campus or at least a hybrid for A&P (online/on-campus labs) since I understand from the professors I've been e-mailing that the labs can involve more nuance than what I'm doing in Chemistry.
Yeah, I probably should clarify. The nursing schools (at least in my area) will not *accept* credits from science classes with no wet lab rather than what I originally said that the class can only be taken with the lab. You might want to double check with the schools you plan to apply to first rather than seeing if an online school offers it with no lab.
I'm actually taking my classes online through the college here in my area. I have the option to go on campus or I can stop by the campus to speak with my professors if I need to.
One more thought. You can always go to the websites of the nursing schools you plan to apply to and see if there's an equivalency chart you can download that tells you the equivalent course numbers of credits they will accept from other schools.
I keep a listing from the universities in my radius and use them to pick classes. If one accepts 1406 or 1411 and the others only accept 1411, that's what I take so I can keep my options open.
I took all my online classes through my local community college. Double check with the program(s) you are applying for that you don't need a lab or that a lab can be done with the online class (either at home or on computer) and still be accepted. If not you may want to look into hybrid courses that have the lab at a school and everything else online. I did that for chemistry (through local CC) and it worked well for me.

I am interested in apply to an accelerated nursing program in nyc. I recently completed microbiology and statistics this past spring. My other pre requisites such as A&P 1/2, chemistry are more then 10yrs old. I must retake them and was told I could complete them online. I wanted to know if anyone out there has done this and if so where did they register. I am currently trying to get in contact with someone at pace university to find out what programs would be acceptable.
