i currently have a 3.0 gpa but i still have not taken, a&p 1 and 2 micro and nutrition, do i need to make A's on these courses. I have read a lot saying it is pretty much impossible to get into a nursing program with a 3.0 is this true in texas?
thanks!

It is really going to vary from school to school. Most schools don't have the exact same criteria. An example is, some may only look at your science GPA an entrance exam scores. It just varies. I would suggest looking at the nursing program websites in your area and see what they require for acceptance. It seems that you still need about 15 hrs before you can apply, which could also bring your GPA up quite a bit. I don't think you should be discouraged. I would shoot for making A's in the classes you need, and retake any classes that you can to bring up your GPA if the program will accept that. Nursing school is very competitive to get into. Once you are in, it is quite a workload. I would definitely try to make A's and then go from there. You could also look at applying to a couple of schools, not just 1. You will most likely need to bring your GPA up in order to get accepted.
