Competency Assessment Programme for Overseas Qualified Nurses

I'm a registered nurse from the Philippines and currently working in Saudi Arabia as a Critical Care Nurse. I got my decision letter from Nursing Council of New Zealand that I am eligible for CAP but I'm having difficulties in finding a CAP provider since I have clubbing score in IELTS. There's this one institution that would probably accept me but the thing is, it's very expensive with them and they have a direct agent that will process the enrollment in which you have to pay the agent as well aside from the Course fee. Do you think it will be worth it? Is it difficult for nurses to find employment in New Zealand nowadays who will sponsor for a working visa? Hoping those overseas nurses in New Zealand can give me some advice. Thanks.

P.S.

I used an agent from the Philippines to help me with my application for Registration in NCNZ-- big mistake, totally regret it. They did not help me much at all. For those who are planning to apply in the future, better to do it yourself.

Specializes in L&D, Nursery, and Post-Partum.

NZ Immigration has removed lots of nursing specialties from the skills list, which makes it difficult to obtain sponsorship. I know most advertisements I see ask for NZ nursing experience. I would double check that school you're looking at. I've not heard of anything like that before...kinda sounds dodge. I do know that the schools currently have a waiting list of over a year long and cost around $2500. Good luck!
