Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Fall 2022

Published

Hi!

I'm starting this thread for anyone who is applying to CCBC (Community College of Baltimore County) for the Fall of 2022.

This will be my THIRD and absolutely LAST time applying here. I met with an advisor, got lots of info, and am retaking the TEAS next week.

Feel free to join me here ?

Yeah, there is. It is in your SIMON account and there should be a tab that says supplemental application.

Thank you edtoBnurse!

Hey all,

I am in my final semester of the CCBC registered nursing program at Essex.  I remember obsessively browsing this site 2 years ago during the admissions process, sizing up my chances of acceptance and trying to get a grasp on what the program might be like.

If you have any questions about the program, feel free to post them in the thread or pm me directly.

Good luck, everyone!

Evening/weekend. Classes are generally tues/thurs with 2 semesters also having a 1 credit course on Wednesdays.  Clinicals are weekends.

pajamasamuel- Thank you so much that is so kind! Would you mind sharing what your GPA and TEAS scores were? Any advice for the program would be greatly appreciated. Congrats on being in your final semester!!

- 3.1 cumulative GPA

- 3.67 science GPA

- 83% TEAS test

      - Reading: 80.9%

      - Math: 93.8%

      - Science: 76.6%

      - English and Language Usage: 75.0%

No real advice other than think of school as a resource rather than a roadblock to becoming a nurse.  Put in the work or you will be left behind, CCBC is very unforgiving.

Thanks for the advice! I applied to the evening/weekend program. I have similar stats so I’m hoping I can get in ?

I hope you do too.  You have a pretty good chance, I think!

This is the program I applied to for this fall. What time do the classes and clinicals typically start?

LECTURE:

Tues: 6pm - 9pm

Weds (if applicable): 6pm - 8pm

Thurs: 6pm - 9pm

CLINICAL:

Sat and/or Sunday: (depends on your clinical instructor) between 630am - 8am through 2pm - 5pm

LAB:

Generally some random weekend day, could be morning, afternoon, or evening.  Skills testing could be 4:30-9pm Tues - Thurs

If you were wondering, you have clinicals your first semester.  Usually just comprises doing vitals, head to toe assessments, and activities of daily living (ADL).  Bed baths, emptying catheter bags, spoon feeding, etc.
