Hello colleagues,
I have been reviewing the AllNurses website for some time and decided to become a member. In reviewing the website, I noted that there is a previous post related to Columbus State University's (CSU) Family Nurse Practitioner program for the part-time (PT) schema for the spring 2019; however, I have not found anything concerning the Fall (2019), full-time (FT) schema. I know that this is relatively soon, following the application deadline, but I am feeling anxious about acceptance and wanted to connect with some of the potential cohort peers. The application deadline was February 15, 2019. I check my CSU e-mail and portal frequently for an acceptance decision and noted that my application was "sent to department for review." I understand that this is a "waiting" period but the stress is agony. Just wondering, if anyone has heard anything from CSU. Also from previous/ current students, how would you rate this program? Does anyone know what the average GPA range for acceptance is and how they evaluate RN to BSN transcripts. I graduated with my associate degree in nursing with a 3.78 GPA and from my BSN program with a 4.0 GPA. I really appreciate everyone's help and look forward to reading your responses.

Thank you! This was my 3rd time around, no worries this wont stop me just bumped out for the moment, but it shall pass. Will look into South University and Chamberlin University. Congrats again future FNP!!!
Hi everyone! I was also accepted for the part-time schema, but I can't find anything on allnurses for just part-time. I was wondering how everyone plans on finding preceptors? Is it someone you already work with or know, or is there a site to use? Also, does anyone have input on how the program is? Thank you, and best of luck to all you!
Hello all! I was accepted to CSU's full time schema starting 2019. I am thinking about taking research and pharm this summer. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if it is doable working 20-30 hours a week?
Additionally, I'm not sure if I am prepared to take this journey. I turn 47 this year and have 3 years nursing experience- mostly peri operative and case management experience. For most of my career, I was a dental hygienist. For those who completed this program, did you feel well prepared to be an FNP upon graduating? Did any of you have limited nursing experience?
Lastly, I took anatomy and physiology in 1998. Do you think this will hinder my FNP career? Should I re-take them before starting the program?
Thank you for your responses!
