Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to see if anyone has applied for Collin Nursing program for fall 2016
I took my PSB for the first time on Feb 4, and I got my results today which was a 5
my Stats: overall 26 points
A&P I- A
A&PII- A
Micro-A
Cumulative:
Eng. B
Gen Psych.A
Humanities . B
Life span. B
so my points aren't very high, and I have no honors courses... but it doesn't hurt to try Its taken me forever to get this point with 3 kids under 4 I'm really hoping I get accepted!!
Hi! Thanks for the info about the letters - maybe she will get them done quickly and they'll go out before Friday! Just a comment - you don't need CHEM 1411, STATS or either one of the psych courses prior to applying to the program. That is for the Nursing FOS degree which is preparing you for transfer to a BSN program. Obviously it's a good idea to get those out the way but they are not requirements. The pysch classes are actually part of the Nursing Program curriculum and can be taken during the program. You can request that advising change your degree plan to the AAS - Nursing RN plan (they will do it unofficially until you are accepted but at least is gives you a better idea of what you need.)
I wish something would update on cougar web before we get our letters! For example: right now it says my degree plan is AAS - I wish it would magically change to "nursing" so I would know if I'm accepted or not!!!! #wishfulthinking lol
Hi Lindsey, how do we go about updating our degree plan on cougarweb? or is it something We have to go down to admissions to do?

Oh, I have no idea. When I initially started at Collin (seems like a lifetime ago) I just did the general associates plan. I think you have to do a degree audit and meet with an advisor. When you started at Collin, if you told the advisor you were going for nursing then they should have just put you in associate of arts or associate of applied science. I was just joking when I said I wish it would update to "nursing"

Yes this is true, I have taken STATS and got an A. I am taking Nutrition during this coming up summer and then all I will need is CHEM to do my Bachelors.
@paolahevia Thanks! I am currently taking Micro but I am doing very well so I know I will make an A, so thats 1 point off for not being "in progress at the time of application." So I think I am looking at a 28/34. Is that good?
Yes I would say so mostly in this thread I see a lot of 29 point applicants, I'm on pins and needles since I'm going in with 26 points!

Well I have seen worse... When I first calculated my points I thought I had 24... My heart broke! But I am decently confident in 28/34 with a 6 on my PSB. And even if we don't get in this semester there is another semester to save up money and better your GPA/points. Either way eventually they will take us with the not-so-perfect scores, right? We all seem to want this bad enough to keep trying. Right now I am only letting myself worry about the financial aspect of getting in. No reason to stress, everything is in God's hands now.
