Collin College Spring 2014 Applicants

I just wanted to start a thread for all the Spring 2014 Collin College applicants. I applied last week. I have 15 points, 4.0 gpa, and a 6 on the PSB exam ( missed one point because I didn't take general biology course). I also applied to TWU as well.

There was no envelope. Just a blue card, the size of a post card. I don't remember the exact date I did it, but it was the day after she sent the email. Maybe the 21st Nov?

I wasn't able to register when the email first came out, but I think they were back in office today. I tried to register today and it let me. So you might want to give it another try. I think mine was due to my major not in the system as Nursing, but it looks like someone updated it.

Yea the registration issue seem to have been a hiccup in their system. I just registered for classes and it worked.

I was able to register for one class, 1170 Introduction to Nursing Concepts, but not Prof Nursing Concepts I and Clinical.

I keep getting "You Must Register for the Co-Requisite Course" and "Department Permit Required" messages....

Oh well... I guess I have to wait....

Does anyone know what classes we have to register for the first semester? Just those three?

If you look under your registration status on CougarWeb it'll give you the CRN codes for the classes you have to take and then go to the add/drop class thing and type in the CRN codes. I have 6 permits total from there, so 6 classes (totaling 9 credit hours apparently)

I was able to register today also. I still have not received my blue card yet...did the fingerprints on December 2.

Hi, jyoo4. I have not received my blue care yet either. I did my fingerprints on December 2nd. I think we may have to contact the Board of Nursing. I've been hearing it's just a small postcard, so it can be easily lost.

Yes I finally talked to TX BON and she said my blue card was sent out on 9th. It was sent from bulk mail, so she said it might take a week... I guess I will talk to nursing dept and let them know about this situation... I was on hold for more than 15 min with BON, call this number just in case you didn't talk to them yet: [phone] and they will check your status.

how did you do on the spelling portion? I took the PSB last year and did awful on the spelling portion. Any suggestions on how to study for it? i am taking the PSB this July

I got my one point for it. It's not too hard, just after a few questions quite a few of the words start looking "right". Shoot for quality not quantity for the PSB.
